Why might you be denied a car rental?

Renting a car requires a responsible attitude because it’s a valuable asset of the company. Therefore, not every client is eligible — rental companies may refuse service for several reasons:

  1. Insufficient age or driving experience. Renters must be at least 21 years old (25 for certain models) and have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of driving experience, depending on the company.
  2. Incomplete documentation. Rental companies reserve the right to refuse service if even a single required document is missing.
  3. Record of violations. Regular traffic offenders are not considered reliable and may be denied service.
  4. Low creditworthiness. Bank debt or issues with credit history can be grounds for refusal at some rental companies.
  5. Bad reputation. If a client has violated contract terms with multiple rental services, other companies might also refuse them.

These basic criteria help rental companies to mitigate financial risks and legal issues. If a client fails to meet any of these requirements, they may be denied a rental agreement.
